How to Add a Fade Effect on Featured Image?

Please try to add the code below in the Additional CSS section within the Customizer.

img.skip-lazy.wp-post-image:hover {
    opacity: 0.5 !important;
}

Feel free to change the opacity value until you achieve the style you want.

Thanks for the reply. But this is not what I actually need.

I want the featured image to have a fade effect by default and when a mouse hovers over it the fade effect should disappear.
