How to add a google map to a widget?

Hello,

What is the simplest way to add a google map to a widget?

I would prefer not to use a google map plugin, as my site already has 5 plugins activated. Is there a way of adding a google map without a plugin, so that it can be updated without having to copy the url from google’s embed?

Would it be best to simply copy the google map url & paste it into a text widget?
