How to add a payment option to a application form

  • Hi
    I’m new to wordpress, having a great time so far.
    I know this may have been asked before, i am probably using the wrong words in my search.
    Basically I have a website that has an application form on it, for an event.
    I want people to be able to fill out a form, with details about themselves, and then be able to make a registration payment for $10 dollars.
    Do I need to install a full ecommerce plugin? and if yes, then make the 10 dollars a product? and place the whole details form at checkout?
    Is there an easier option?
    Also, i use the authorize.net platform, is there a way to take subscription payments using authorize? ( i know obviously they can be part of ecommerce platforms)
