    Hi Andrea,

Firstly, thank you for creating this plugin! I’ve been searching for somethign like this for some time ??

    I had 2 questions:

    1. How to add a sidebar to the custom template?

    2. How to style the custom template with css?

Thanks and have a great day!

    yours sincerely,

    Nick

edit: Is there a way to create custom post archives?

Hi @birdbrainsolutions , thanks for using the plugin.
If you like and want to support the project, don’t forget to leave your review (5 star ?? of course).

    1.
If the theme used includes sidebars, you should be able to set everything from the theme options (look on single post sidebar).
Alternatively you could create a sidebar column with the page builder (row with inside: column 80% width for the content, column 20% width for the sidebar).
Let me know if it works.

    2.
The style can be changed from “Appearance> Customize” or through the theme’s style.css file or through PHP functions. Choose the best method for you.

    3.
The archive page is managed like all the others through the WordPress core. So you can customize it to your liking in the same way as other archives. If you are looking for a developer who does it for you, I am available, contact me via my website.

    Thanks ??

    Hi Andrea,

Oh I definitely intend to leave a 5 star review, as soon as I figure some things out ??

    1. Yeah, I realised how to do that before I read your message ?? thanks anyway

    2. How through PHP functions? Is it possible to use a custom css file? If so, how?

    3. Same questions as no.2 for the archive page

I’m a designer and budding developer, hence the questions ?? But if I cannot figure it out with your help, I would definitely consider hiring you. Just out of curiosity, how much would you charge to create a simple custom post template + custom post css file and explain?

Anyway, I installed the plugin and the custom post single and archive page work fine:

    Custom Post single: https://i.imgur.com/uSqYOja.jpg

    Custom Post Archive: https://i.imgur.com/uiCiaW0.jpg

however, the regular blog single shows these errors:

    View post on imgur.com

with weird padding around the logo, and the rest of the page looking fine.

    Please help, thanks!

    yours sincerely,

    Nick

It seems that the problem is in the “Post custom templates lite” plugin, it could be a question of compatibility.
Have you tried disabling that plugin?

@andreadegiovine lol, I don’t know why but I thought that that was the name of your plugin ?? Disabling that plugin fixed it, thank you!

Could you help with no. 2, and 3 as well please?

@birdbrainsolutions WordPress allows the insertion of css rules in different ways.
If you have no skills on the WordPress Core, I suggest you insert the rules via “Appearance> Customize> Additional Css” (I used translate so they could be called differently).
Alternatively you could modify the “style.css” file contained in the active theme folder (remember to use a child theme to not miss the changes with future updates).
