    Hi Oliver,

Is it possible to add a subtitle – or tag line as it seems to be called when I searched – between the title and the featured image in the blog posts?

    Thanks,
    Rod

Oh, yes I believe what you’re looking for is the Caption. Off the top of my head (without testing) if you edit the post / page in question then click on the featured image and add a Caption to the image and publish, the caption should be shown below the featured image.

    If not, let me know.

Sorry, I’ll try to put it more clear.

In the website in the screenshot, they have several lines added between the title and the first paragraph. A “Written by…” and a “Avocado consumption…” This second one is like a briefing of the text. I would like to be able to add it as a subtitle, under the title.

Oh, right, in that case, it’s probably best for you to add a heading block with the desired size text.

I don’t think the theme is going to be able to accomplish what you want without either editing the template file and using custom fields to add a sub-title or some other method. Injecting a sub-title below the heading using javascript won’t look good to search engine spiders either I don’t think.

I think the best thing here for you is to make the best use of the block editor to do what you are asking.

If not, doing a quick search for subtitle seems to show a few theme-independent plugins that might do what you want?

Indeed I was trying to avoid going through a plugin and considering adding the subtitle and the featured image through the block editor as parts of the post’s content.

Thank you for putting it so clear.

    cheers,

    OK, hope that works.
