    hello,

There is a yellow paypal button written “checkout with paypal” on the cart page /cart/ (at the bottom, under PROCEED TO CHECKOUT)

I would like to also add this button on the CHECKOUT page /checkout/ preferably on the top of the page.

Can you tell me how to do ?

I just read this and I totally agree with the requests, why we can’t have an option ? It’s obvious that a Paypal button should be on top of the page:

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi @budrwo

You can enable PayPal button on the checkout page by enabling the PayPal Mark feature within WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > PayPal Checkout > Manage.

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/paypal-express-checkout/#section-7

    Hope this helps,

Sorry but it seems that you do not understand, please read again my message, it’s clear enough I think, and I linked to another post asking exactly the same thing.
If it was so simple I would have found it myself.

This option does not do what I am asking (it is enabled on my shop):
    PayPal Mark
PayPal Mark Enable the PayPal Mark on regular checkout
This option does not display the Paypal yellow button on /checkout/ page, it just allows to checkout with Paypal after filling the form, which is not was customers want.

IF you read the other post please try to understand that this is totally stupid that there is no yellow paypal express checkout on the checkout page and that it should be possible to show it as it shows on /cart/ page.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi @budrwo

The yellow button is there if you enable on the checkout page and also enable Smart Buttons:

You can use the same documentation I listed fo help enabling Smart Buttons.

Thank you again, but the Paypal button on/ checkout/ page IS NOT THE EXPRESS PAYMENT BUTTON.

As an evidence, when I click on it without filling the form I get these errors:
Billing First name is a required field.
Billing Last name is a required field.
Billing Email address is a required field.
Billing Street address is a required field.
Billing Town / City is a required field.
Billing State / County is a required field.
Billing Postcode / ZIP is a required field.

    ——
But on /cart/ page, if you click on the yellow paypal button, you do not have to fill any form, because this button brings you directly to Paypal payment page, without filling any form.
    ——

And the yellow express button should be on top of the page, because some people reach the /checkout/ page and want to pay with their Paypal account WITHOUT HAVING TO FILL UP THE FORM.

Could this be explained to somebody working on Woocommerce ? This is essential, and other Paypal payment plugins have it, but I only want to use the official Paypal payment plugin.

    Thank you again.

    Hi @budrwo,

Thank you for your responses. The PayPal Express Checkout plugin was meant to be a quick option to check out with in the Cart and Products pages. As mentioned in the thread you linked earlier:

The PayPal Express button was moved so it would appear more in line for shops with multiple payment options. Lots of shop owners thought it odd to have some of the payment options on the bottom right of the checkout page (PayPal Standard, Stripe, etc.), but then have PayPal Express checkout sitting at the top of the screen.

This change was made for this particular plugin for the express option; you can select the PayPal Mark at the bottom of your PayPal Checkout settings (seen here) to get the button back on your Checkout page. After that connect with your theme developer to move the button to a more desirable location.

Thank you, but I think that it is wrong:
Lots of shop owners thought it odd to have some of the payment options on the bottom right of the checkout page (PayPal Standard, Stripe, etc.), but then have PayPal Express checkout sitting at the top of the screen.
==>Paypal express should really be on top to avoid forcing customers to fill the form on /checkout/ page.

    Then you say:
This change was made for this particular plugin for the express option; you can select the PayPal Mark at the bottom of your PayPal Checkout settings (seen here) to get the button back on your Checkout page. After that connect with your theme developer to move the button to a more desirable location.
==> SORRY BUT THIS IS TOTALLY WRONG AS I ALREADY SAID AND REPEATED:
this Paypal button on checkout page does not work if people do not fill the form, defeating all the benefit of paying with Paypal. Can you try to agree that this is stupid ? How to explain it to someone who can take action ?

Even if the paypal button remains at the bottom on /checkout/ page, customers should not be forced to fill the form !
The paypal button on /checkout/ page should be the same as paypal button on /cart/ page, and should work without filling any details.

Thank you again for taking this in consideration.

I am sorry you feel this way – the PayPal Express Checkout plugin was designed primarily with the thought of having a button on the Product and Cart pages, so that the customer can technically skip the checkout page, and the redirect to PayPal to pay, entirely. There are other PayPal plugins such as the Standard which have more button flexibility if you would like to have a different PayPal option, but the user will be directed to PayPal itself.

If you still need the button changed in positioning or location then you can reach out to your theme developer and have them re-orient it to where you like it.

Sorry but this is not just a feeling ! someone should finally understand that forcing the people to fill a form to pay with Paypal is wrong !
Is it possible at least to submit it to people who have a real practice of online commerce, maybe they could understand that anybody who knows how customers behave also knows that asking to fill a form to pay with paypal even on /checkout/ page is incorrect ?!

    thank you.

    Hi @budrwo

    > someone should finally understand that forcing the people to fill a form to pay with Paypal is wrong !

PayPal Checkout is only one of the many payment gateways offered for WooCommerce, and it is offered as many customers feel safe purchasing online when they see PayPal and have to pay.

You can choose another PayPal option if you would like and can see the comparison here – https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/paypal-extension-comparison/#section-3

It would be great to have you add your ideas to the [Ideas Board](https://ideas.woocommerce.com/forums/133476-woocommerce?category_id=337582), which is where developers go to look for future plugin features and improvements.

    Thanks,

The OP was a little rude about it, but I really agree. Once you get to the checkout page, the option for Paypal should be very early on in the page, and allow the user to skip all the billing fields (the main advantage of using Paypal, after all). It doesn’t make sense that this is facilitated on the /cart page but not on the /checkout page.

Is there really no way to bypass the billing fields on the checkout page with the Paypal Express Checkout?

    Thanks.

I also completely agree with @budrwo and @norabrown212.

When you use Amazon pay plugin- it puts that sucker RIGHT at the top of your checkout page.

Paypal should be right there next to it. Nobody wants to fill out a form.

I’ll be trying to hack together the desired functionality on my own..

@budrwo @norabrown212 if either of you figured this out already lmk..

    @budrwo @norabrown212 @zapcorionrexxx19

Hey, guys if you already figured this out please let me know.

We are still waiting that one of the plugin authors decide to be smart…
