Hey Tom! Greetings. You did help me last 2 to 3 years and I know you can do that again today.
So I am working on a site with generatepress. The site is [ redundant link removed ]

Now I want to get search result filtering with Alphabet that holds all the custom post type “album” thus showing every album or tag within the album that has the corresponding alphabet.
I got this working using this post shown on stackoverflow here
How I managed to make it work is that I put the code that is meant for search.php directly to the function.php and then called it in the homepage.
My issue now is that I am unable to show this list of post from the result on the search page….instead it shows on homepage with every other post on homepage.
    Now my question!!!!!
How can I make this pull search result template?
Thanks as I wait for your assistance on this.

    Hi there,

Have you considered using a custom search.php template in your child theme? That way the code won’t affect other templates (your homepage) at all – it should only apply to the search results.

    Let us know ??

Thanks Tom but I have used another option which is assigning tag automatically on post creation and pulling post associated with each tag on the search page.
This is working. See here /lyrics/a List of artists with ‘A” as first letter
Tom I really appreciate your assistance. Thanks
