I am having trouble figuring out how to add page breaks to my home page. Currently, all of my posts are added to one long column in the middle and not divided up chronologically by pages. I would like to have the option to click on “page 1,2,3,4 etc” at the bottom while my home page only displays the most recent posts.

I have not updated to the latest version of Preference Lite but only installed it a couple of weeks ago.

Hi gatheringgreen….To add page breaks for long pages of content, you would use this tag:

    <!–nextpage–>

Where does this code go? And do I need to place this code somewhere every time I want to add another page?

With the page (or post) open in your editor, switch to the “text” tab view and then type or paste <!–nextpage–> where you would like your page breaks to appear.

I tried posting this code at the top of my post and at the end of it while in the text editor. However, it didn’t add pages to the home page of my blog.

I think I should clarify what I’m trying to do. I don’t want to break individual posts up into multiple pages, I want to create a running history of blog entries that are displayed as only 5-8 entries per page. Then, I’d like to be able to click on Page 1 (2,3,4,5) at the bottom of each page in order to toggle between other pages of posts.

Sorry, I didn’t understand. So in that case, that is actually a setting in WordPress to set the number of posts per page. So if you want 5 posts per page then a navigation at the bottom, go to Settings >> Reading and set the number of posts. By default it’s set to 10.

Great thank you, I knew it had to be a simple fix!
