How to add constantly updated news feed from CNN RSS

  • I am new to blogging and brand new to WP…

    I want news to be displayed (topic and summary of 6-10 articles) in my sidebar or in the footer that is constantly (daily or more often) updated automatically from CNN or other. (I want the news to be google readable, so no java or i-frame or anything like that; but php or html.)

    I have read and read and it seems that the only products that i can find are for separate pages, but not to be included on my blog in the sidebar or footer.

    What product or plugin do I need and also if you would provide some samples using the newsfeed.
