    Hi,

I am moving this website from a theme that is not responsive to Virtue. I am trying to add a couple of things to either the top bar or just below the navigation (but still in the header).
One is Facebook Likebox, and the other is a custom button ‘Request Style Advice’ (both can be seen on the existing site here).

I am working through the new theme changes to Virtue here

Could you please advise the best place to put these, and how to do so?

    Thanks!

  • Hey so the free theme doesn’t have a header widget option beside what is in the topbar.

For the exact look as your previous site you would need to header the templates/header.php file and add in your code or a call to a widget area.

I really recommend using a child theme for this so you do lose any edits with an update.

Thanks – so this would be fairly easy to do if I upgraded to Virtue Premium?
If I did this, would I also be able to create a slider like this one on the existing homepage (without needing to buy another plugin)?

    Thanks

There isn’t the same type of slider in the premium theme as your are using here: https://www.divineyou.co.nz/

As for options with the premium you can have a widget area to the right of your logo, so it’s similar to your other original site but the menu would be below the content not above.

It would allow the topbar then below that your widget area then below that your menu.

else if your wanting the exact same look I suggest using a child theme and adding your own customizations.

    Thanks for the confirmation.
I will see how I go with some custom edits for now, but great to know I can change the look slightly to get the functionality needed.

    Cheers
