How to add extra space for image and text content into a premium wp theme

    Hello,
    wordpress community,
    I want to start a user generated video sharing site.I have shortlisted a few themes. However, I would like to add an extra ismage and some text on top of the home page. This additional content will be the landing area and will convey the essence of the site.if possible I want to add a full width slider with image background and text. The theme developers told me it is possible but they don’t support customization of this type.
    Could somebody advise how to do this and if this is possible, the code for inserting this.

    First of all this is going to be slightly different for each theme and might require editing the template files once you get the theme depending on what you want. But, this should give you a rough idea of what will be required:

    • Adding text and image to top of front page
    1. once you have your theme installed and activated create a page and add the picture and text that you want on the home page
    2. save the page
    3. then under the appearance menu click customize then click “static front page” from the side menu
    4. then select “a static page”
    5. then from the drop down select the page you created earlier

    thanks for the reply, really appreciate it.
    However, its a bit tricky with the themes that i am looking to work with.
    It does not seem to give the option of creating an additional landing page.(its a user generated video sharing theme).

    Also, can some one advise, can i use another theme to build the landing page and then provide a link to the video sharing theme for my site. ie i will be using two themes for my site. users must land on the landing page and a click or login will take them them to the main video content viewing and uploading pages.

    I am looking at beaver builder, can i use this plugin to customize any other wordpress theme or it works with their theme only??

    So, alternatively, i am thinking of using beaverbuilder and integrating a frontend video sharing plugin. will this work and can somebody advise me the best plugin that allows front end video sharing by users, they should also be able to upload videos from third party like youtube

    Desparate soul here, somebody please help !!
