How to add favicon to Twenty Twenty-Three theme with WordPress 6.2.2

Hi @zuma when you add the site logo block in Appearance> Editor check the block settings to see if the option to has been togged as shown below:

I don’t have a site logo. I have a site title, which is a word, namely, my name.

Which, I believe, is the theme default.

Hi @zuma alright, you want to have a favicon but without having to add a site logo?

If that is the case, I don’t see any option to achieve that right now. I would suggest creating a feature request on GitHub for the developers. In the meantime, I would suggest adding the site logo and following the steps provided above and then using CSS code to hide the logo from the site.

Hi @zuma thank you for opening the issue and I see there is a workaround after all. Going into the Customiser using the block settings, I am going to mark this issue as resolved for now. However, feel free to open another issue if you need assistance.

This is the official solution: Use the site logo block to be able to open the (old) Customizer, there you can add the favicon, then delete the site logo block.
