• hi,

completely new to wordpress and trying to wrap my head around it.
chose a theme and got it up and running. created 3 pages and added them under menu to represent my sidebar navigation.
I’d like to add an image under the menu links on the side. But where? How? I see stylesheets available but no hard code, no HTML to be edited anywhere. Just want to add an img src.

please advise as to where I need to go to better access and control the site. Do I need to download it into Dreamweaver? what’s the standard working methods here?

    thank you.

  • Assuming your theme has an sidebar, you would normally go to widgets under the Appearance tab, and place a normal Text widget into the sidebar and place the img src code in there.

Text widgets take HTML and Javascript as well as… you guessed it… normal text ??

    Hope that helps.

OK, this is good to know, as I am still learning how to use this thing.
So, if I type in my HTML for the image link within this thing called a Text Widget…where do I upload my image to?

    Thanks!

    hello? anyone, anyone? Bueler? Beuler?

    thank you!

you can use the media uploader ( dashboard -> media -> add new -> select files ) to upload an image, and then use that image url in the textwidget.

or use ftp to upload an image to the server.

How do I know what the path is to the img within WordPress to create the URL so that it only shows up the img?

The text widget has displayed the name I gave the image and the http typed out, but no img.

    Help?
