How to add images with links on home page.

    I want to add 4 custom size images with links on the home page under the nav bar. I am using a child theme for twenty eleven. Here is my site photomomentsforlife.com/wordpress. I want these images to align side by side with a brief text underneath each & a link to one of my pages. I have tried searching but have found nothing to help! Please if someone could tell me what code I need to use to do this & where to put it.

    Also my “home” page is not actually a page so I can’t edit it in dashboard, pages.
