How to add Instagram social icon?

I’d like to know how to add an Instagram social icon in the footer widget. I found where the code is but when I changed the code to use “instagram” it didn’t work. Isn’t that an icon that you include with the theme? It is so common, I assumed it was there. Please tell me how to get that icon to appear. Thank you.
