    Hi,
I just installed WordPress in AWS LightSail, according to many web sites say:
if you want to add a menu system system, in DashBoard, click Appearance, Menu, create a new menu.
However, In my case, Appearance, Themes, Editor, but no Menu.

Searching through Google, I could find some websites talking about this issue, but none of them could give me a simple, direct answer of the issue.

It is my first time to use WordPress, but I don’t expect WordPress is so unreasonable and difficult to use.

    Could you help me?
    Thanks.

  • If you have installed the latest version and have not changed the theme yet, then you have activated the new block theme TwentyTwentyTwo. With this theme the editor was introduced, which you can see in the menu under Appeareance. In this editor you can now manage the menus. One of many instructions can be found here: https://www.wpxpo.com/wordpress-menu-customization-in-twenty-twenty-two-theme/

If you want a classic menu management, you have to use a classic theme, e.g. TwentyTwentyOne. But this is absolutely up to you and depends on what you want to achieve in the frontend.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your information provided.
I followed the YouTube steps, I could click ‘Add Link’.
But I couldn’t find Home and Blog, so I could only type Home and Blog directly.
All of sudden, the YouTube turned to another screen: My Page.
I don’t know how to get there, I mean My Page.
In YouTube, at the right hand side, there are 2 tabs: Page and Block.
However, at my screen, it only shows: Template and Block.
Why my screen doesn’t show Page and Block?
Why my Add Link didn’t show Home and Blog for me to click?

    Could you help me?

I assume you mean this video here:

“My Page” is as far as I can see the template which was created in the editor. If you then create a new page in wp-admin under Pages, you can select this template. Through different templates you can also give your pages different looks. You can assign the template to the pages and posts.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I give up!
I changed to use: Twenty Twenty-One rather than the default one: Twenty Twenty Two.
Using 2021, I could add a menu very easily.
I think WordPress is a powerful tool but might be the learning curve is very long for some people.

    Anyway, thanks for your help.
