How to add meteor slideshow on my homepage in suffusion theme in a widget?

I know this is a repeated query, but even after reading all other solutions, I am unable to add the slideshow.
I want to add the slideshow just below the header image. And suffusion provides “Widget Area Below Header” widget option, which is as wide as page width (which is also my choice). But simply adding the “meteor slideshow widget” to this widget area is not solving my problem!
Do I need to place this code somewhere too <?php if ( function_exists( ‘meteor_slideshow’ ) ) { meteor_slideshow(); } ?> ? if yes, where exactly?
