How To Add Photos

Car Demon uses the native WordPress post photo Gallery. When you go to edit a vehicle click on the add photo icon above the post content box. To select a photo as the main pic just set it as the featured image for the vehicle. The featured image is used on the search result pages and shows up as the the main image on the vehicle detail pages.

I took a quick look at your page, if you’re going to use the compare vehicle option you should add the compare vehicle widget to one of the widget areas.

Hi Jay, I’ve installed the latest version .6 and it’s quite smooth,much better CSS and all round fit.However I am still finding I can’t add non related car pictures using the image uploader to a page. For example I have a Service/Repairs page I would like to add a photograph of the mechanics on to. When trying to insert the image I can select the photograph but when clicking on Insert into post, the form goes blank and no image is inserted. This is the same for custom forms too, it seems the insert into page is disabled unless you are loading car images via the inventory.

Thanks for letting me know about the issue inserting photos. Looks like I have an error in the code that is causing the hiccup. I’ll correct the code in version 1.1.7 and try to have it uploaded in a day or two, sooner if possible. I’ll let you know as soon as it is available. Thanks again!

No problem, the featured image link is a little hard to find sometimes.

Look for the section labeled “Setting a Post Thumbnail” and it should show you where to set your featured image.

hey Jay, why I’m not getting the thumbnails to show on the widget area/ sidebar. It just shows the image holder “Photo coming soon”. And it does the same thing on the “Cars For Sale” in the dashboard. And also the Cars for sale list shows that it has zero (0) pics, even though it has some pics.

Hey Julian,

Are you in the Kansas City area? That’s my neck of the woods! It’s always nice to meet someone from the same area or who has ties to the area.

Off the top of my head it looks like you might need to see a ‘featured’ image for each of your vehicles. That’s how it flags which photo is the primary image. If you have already set a featured image let me know and we’ll dig into it a little deeper.

Hey Julian,

You can go to http:/yoursite.com/cars-for-sale to view the inventory without search. There’s an option in Car Demon settings to let you continuously load your inventory as the page scrolls down. You’ll need to install the wp-pagenavi PlugIn for it to work right.

Oh yeah, make sure you update your permalinks to /%postname%/%post_id%
