How to add php functions file

I’m guessing that you already have a child theme set up in order to get your CSS working correctly. If that’s the case, you just create a new functions.php file in your child theme folder and it will be included automatically by the system when it loads.

DO I need to add text at the start if the file. For example the css file has the:

@import url(“../twentytwelve/style.css”);

You don’t need to add the @import, but working with the functions.php in your child is a bit tricky.
