I have registered a custom post type and also custom post status. Currently, I am struggling with the problem that posts of my custom post type, which are in one of my custom post status (comparable to the built-in status ‘publish’), do not show up in the sitemap!?

Yoast SEO doesn’t show the status of any content types in the XML sitemap.

That is not what I meant!

Again: I have some posts, which are in a custom post status. But these posts are not shown in the XML sitemap. When I transist the status to ‘publish’, then they are shown correctly.

Is there a possibility to set Yoast SEO, so that also post in my custom post status are shown in the XML sitemap?

We apologize for the confusion. Yoast SEO only includes the public post status in the XML sitemap. However, we understand that a custom post status can be also public.

Thanks for suggesting a new feature for our plugin! We’re actively using the bug tracking on our GitHub repository so your best next step would be to create a new feature request for our developers at https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/new. You can create a new issue to submit your feature request. You will need an account to create one.

Don’t forget to include the URL to this conversation in your feature request!
