How to add product attribute terms with enter text

    Hi

    Does someone can show me which codes add to which file to get the old version of woocommerce to add the product attribute term by enter the text please?

    The new version of Woocommerce has cancelled this option from the last version and only have the select option, not to enter the text to create a new term, but I hope to get back for this function for my website.

    As far as I can see, the only solutions would be to rollback to a previous version of WooCommerce or to custom code this functionality (based on the previous version of WooCommerce ).

    Can I ask why you need this though? Rather than entering free text, you just need to click the ‘add new’ button in the attributes panel to input the new attribute as text.

    The ‘text’ type had no effect on the frontend views which is why it was often a support issue/confusing thing when chosen. The only difference between ‘text’ and ‘select’ was that in the admin you would either see a dropdown (select attributes) or a plain text fields (text attributes). Both work identically and allow the same types of attributes to be input.

    My website is an online marketplace, this product option is to let the multi different vendor enter their special product option, I have already create a lot of global product option and is use for filter too.

    But a lot of vendor has a lot of very special product option, the admin can’t create all those special option for each different vendor. So we need the text type back like the old version to each different vendor enter their product option.

    But this is still not the best solution, because I already has onlye one vendor and he has added more than 300 different special product option, do you have a best solution for this please like Ebay or Amazon?

    This isn’t built into WooCommerce anymore so you’d need to custom code the feature you wish to have back in.

    WooCommerce has an extensive hook and filter system that allows customizations. You can read more at Hooks: Action and Filter Reference -https://support.woothemes.com/hc/en-us/articles/203106567-Using-Hooks-and-Filters.

    If you can’t quite figure out what code you need, I’d suggest looking for a developer from Codeable or a Woo Expert so you can get some help from developers who are experienced in WooCommerce.
