How to add stuff in the right bar

  • How do you guys add links, profiles, and more categories in general in the right-left bar (I mean the one with calendar, web links etc.)?
    Should I edit the index.php? If so, what should I add to it if I would like for example add “My Profile” link or a category?
    P.S.: For category I don’t mean the categories of the post!

    Thanks a lot macmanx. That is exactly what I was looking for. Is:
    php _e('Validation')
    ‘Validation’, in this example, the name of the new “group”?
    Also in this string:
    >Valid CSS
    is ‘Validation CSS’ the name of the new link referring to the w3 website?
    I think I got it anyway. I’ll play with my website as soon as my exams will be a thing of the past!
