I must be an idiot but I can’t seem to find how to make subtitles work with an mp4 file. I know how to embed an SRT file into an mp4 using Handbrake. However, from this forum I understand that this plugin only supports WEBVTT. I have not been able to find a program that is able to embed this format into mp4.

I also don’t see any place in the plugin interface where I could add a separate subtitle file to load along with the video file. I tried this with both a video file from the media library as a video file hosted via Dropbox.

Could anyone point me in the right direction?

The subtitles can be added only if you add your videos through our “Custom Post Type” interface. Kindly refer this tutorial https://plugins360.com/all-in-one-video-gallery/add-your-first-video/

Hope, this give you an idea.

Once you have added a video with the subtitle, you can use the generated shortcode in your POST/PAGE to show the video that also shows your subtitles.

Ah, perfect thanks! That was really helpful! I hadn’t looked at that way to add video’s.

Maybe one more question, is it possible to start a video with subtitles on? Or would it always be necessary for a visitor to use the video controls to turn them on?
