    When adding blocks with images or mixed content on pages or posts I cannot add an image attribute title text.

    But this is needed for SEO and the mouse over hover effect showing the image title for visitors next to the mouse cursor.

    We tried switching to the code editor and adding it in the image tag as

    title=”My Image Title Text”.

    But this doesn’t work: The block editor then shows an unexpected invalid entry.

    But the code is not invalid!

    Now, as we need the image title attribute, to show the title on mouse over hovering over the image and to inform Google of what’s it about our question is:

    How can we add image titles (html attributes NOT the media library titles!) without breaking our site?

    thanks for help!

    Cheers, j.

    Hi @jhnn,

    The Image block has a “Title attribute” setting. You can see it under the Advanced panel. https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/image-block/#advanced

    For the other blocks which contain images (Media & Text, Gallery), WordPress doesn’t include this possibility. We can’t add this feature in the Twentig plugin as it would break the block (invalid content).

    For SEO purposes, the important attribute is the “alt” attribute.
    “Each image should have an alt text. Not just for SEO purposes, but also because blind and visually impaired people won’t otherwise know what the image is about. A title attribute is not required. What’s more, most of the time it doesn’t make sense to add it.”

    I hope the above is useful to you.

    If you enjoy Twentig, please leave a review. It would really help me out ??
