How to add the site EME calendar in iCal format into a Google calendar?

That’s not something I ever gave as a url to anyone, but even then: replacing the shortcode with for example “https://localhost/wordpress/?eme_ical=public&scope=future” (the result of the shortcode in a local test setup) and then entering the complete url in a browser seems to be working just fine for me (in firefox).
Btw: events_ical_link has been deprecated in favor of eme_ical_link long ago (see changelog and the doc).

The idea is to add the link inside the wordpress page that would automatically take you to your Google calendar and add a wordpress EME calendar as a separate calendar in Google Calendar. Does the following code work for you:

When I click on the link, I’m redirected to google calendar that asks me if I want to add that calendar, so for me it seems to work.

I tried that, I am getting:

And also your calendar is empty at the moment, no events in 2015. If possible, could you please add a few 2015 test events, holidays or something like that to test.

I also (for testing) removed (like in the forum above) the utf-8 charset, but it shouldn’t make a difference.

Your calendar shows perfectly fine in my Google calendar, but my calendar doesn’t. I have added Lunar New Year event on February 19 2015 for testing. Maybe the issue is utf-8 charset? How can I remove it?

Weird … your link gives a not-found error in the validator, but in my browser it works.
Also https://gardensquare.org/wordpress/ gives me a not-found error in my browser, but https://gardensquare.org/?eme_ical=public works …
It seems you have done some things to your site (moving to root?), but not everything in the DB is pointing in the right direction.

==> in fact, your webserver logfiles might explain why the validator has no access to the url, maybe google cal has the same problem

I also tried another validator at https://icalvalid.cloudapp.net/ – getting Request Rejected.

I wonder why web browsers easily download the ics file, but the validators are rejected with HTTP error 403?

I just tried it here: curl doesn’t work on yuor site, wget does. So either curl as a http-agent is not allowed by your apache config, or your wordpress has some security module that disallows curl …

I didn’t make any changes in the server configuration, and everything worked fine until the end of December 2014. Most likely this is something in WordPress. I guess, I can disable my pluging one by one and try to do the validation to narrow down to a particular plugin, if this is a plugin issue and not something introduced in WordPress 4.1.

Could you tell me if https://www.e-dynamics.be/wordpress/ is on WordPress 4.1?
