I’m using the black splat 3 column widget ready theme. However, it’s only allowing me to post widgets on sidebars of column 2 and 3. How do I go about adding widgets to column 1? Would like to add them to the posts. Please help, this is driving me crazy!
    Thanks

  • That’s not possible to the best of my knowledge. You can only add widgets to your sidebars. In this you have two sidebars, but that third column is your primary content column, the content that shows up in it is only what you enter through the post and page editor.

If you really wanted something like a widget to show up in the main column, you would have to get your hands dirty and use a custom template for that page, and code the plugin into the primary column, outside of the loop, below or above the regular post or page content.

Thanks Jleuze. No wonder no one mentions about this. I’ve been handing coding adsense into the posts and kinda sucks. Widgets just seem so much easier. If anyone can help recommend a program that does this, that’ll be great! thanks!

Oh, I am sure there is a slicker way to insert advertising into your posts, especially from a popular service like Google AdSense.

There are lots of ad plugins. AdSense Manager looks pretty advanced, and All in One Adsense and YPN looks to be specifically for inserting ads into posts.

    Good luck!
