    Hello,

I have just setup shipping zone with free shipping. But I can’t find how to apply it to product(s). When I setup a product I can see only “Shipping class” setting under Product/Shipping menu, but it seems not related to Shipping zone.

How can I set the shipping zone to apply to product(s) ?

    Please help. Thanks in advance!

Flat rate/free shipping is not a per product method. You can give a different flat rate to each shipping class (after adding a shipping class, a price field will appear under your flat rate settings), but that is it.

    Thank you Mike!

If I set with No Shipping Class for a product, then Shipping zone will be applied automatically, is that right?

I can see product set with No Shipping Class shows “Shipping costs will be calculated once you have provided your address.” messages for Shipping in cart.

    Please advise. Thanks!

    Hi Mike,
Just for your reference, WC announced/suggest to disable Flat rate/free shipping legacy as soon as possible and use Shipping zone instead, because they will be removed soon by new WC version.

So don’t know how to apply Shipping zone to a product, or maybe it works together automatically?

I’m confusing how Shipping Class is relates with Shipping zone for product setting?

    Thanks in advance!

Shipping classes don’t control what zones are used

    The setup is this;

    1. User inputs address
    2. Zone is matched to user
    3. Methods in the zone are presented

Shipping classes are just used to apply different costs in some shipping methods, such as flat rate.

    Got it for shipping zone.

Well, since Shipping zone includes shipping methods (Free, Flat, Pickup) , Shipping class feature seems to be replaced by Shipping zone soon?

It seems overlapped, because they are possible applying at same time, then any conflict?

    Thank you Mike!

No like I said, flat rates for example can use them.

    Hi Mike,

I set free shipping in shipping zone (for 48 states). How can I set live UPS/FedEx shipping charge rate for Hawaii and Alaska states by using product price(s) that also used by free shipping?

The free shipping product price actually already included the shipping cost. If shipping Charge rate based on free shipping product price then it is too high and not reasonable for these two states.

My brain is short and really need help.

    Thanks in advance!

As far as I know, USPS extensions don’t support zones yet, so you’ll need to configure it separately. The WooThemes USPS extension will have zone support soon.

Not USPS (I don’t use USPS), but UPS Ground.

Same. That will be configured outside of zones, usually under the ‘shipping’ tab somewhere.

Okay, got it. Thank you very much for your help Mike!
