• I’m looking for two styles of interaction in terms of bringing RSS content INTO my WordPress blog.

The first style of content is this: I am a Metafilter user, and occasionally post articles to the site’s main page. These articles I post are available through an individualized RSS feed (in other words, you can subscribe to a per-user RSS feed for articles). I’d like to have WordPress post any of my stories from that feed as articles on my blog.

The second style of content is this: I have a separate “tumblelog” on Tumblr in which I post links to videos, images, and sound, as well as brief quotes and interactions. Both Del.Icio.Us and Twitter (via the Twitter Tools plugin) have mechanisms by which they can do daily post “digests” of the content you entered on their site that day (links and tweets, respectively), akin to:

    Blog Title: links for 2007-04-26

    Blah blah blah link text.
    Blah blah blah link description.
    (tags: blah blah bloo)

    Blog Title: Tweets (04/26)

    * Blah blah blah tweet text. (link)
    * Blah blah blah tweet text. (link)
    * Blah blah blah tweet text. (link)
    * Blah blah blah tweet text. (link)
    * Blah blah blah tweet text. (link)
    * Blah blah blah tweet text. (link)

I’d essentially like to be able to generate this for my tumblelog, so essentially, the latter style of interaction is a daily link-digest-style post from the RSS feed, as opposed to a straight out-and-out republish as in the first kind.

What exists out there to help me do this? Certainly I’m not the first to request it. ??

    Mike

P.S. I can instantly see how this could be abused by those fake spam blogs who republish others’ content. It’s not the purpose I’m seeking this for, however! Still, the fact that the fake spam blogs DO it makes me fairly confident the tools exist, no?
