  • I really don’t understand what the number would help Google, but you could add the timestamp as a number or the article-id or just about anything but a random number.

    But useing for example: %postname%-%hour%%minute%%second% would generate a “randomish” number.

    And besides that: if a slug is not unique WordPress will automatically add a number, like “https://www.domain.com/this-is-a-post-1”

    You need to configure the permalink structure in Settings/Permalinks in the WordPress admin.
