How to avoid google to favor homepage instead of post

Hi there,
I am using Yoast SEO, metas and breadcrump … to improve SEO of a 1 year old page with news. When I publish a post
- the sitemap is updated and
- Google console reports the posts as indexed.
BUT when I search for the exact topic, I will find the metainformation that is link to my root folder (homepage). Indeed the post’s headline is listed as a teaser on the homepage.
There is almost no way to find a link in google that leads directly to the posts canonical URL. Even
title site:www.wirtschaftspsychologie-heute.de
doesn’t bring up the posts search result but otehr posts or the homefolder istself.How can I avoid the Google favors the homepage and never leads users directly to my post?
Is this a misconfiguration?M.

You mentioned that when you perform a site search, your homepage comes up in search results more than actual posts.
There is no way to avoid Google favoring your homepage over posts on your site. Google shows what it thinks is most relevant to the search term. If the homepage shows up, it’s because Google thinks it’s more important than the post or vice versa. This is not about misconfiguration.
It is recommended to actually search using the focus keyphrase for the page. This explains why it’s important to pick a relevant keyphrase, that is, what the visitor will be using to search for the post.
