• Hi,

I tried to backup all the articles in my site here, but were not able to find the backup tool in Admin. Does anyone has any lead? The site is running on ver 2.7.

  • You should backup your wp-content directory using your ftp or control panel and backup your database using a tool like phpMyAdmin. Then you will have a full backup of everything.

    Hi Figaro,

    Thanks for the advice.

Ok, to back up wp-content, do you mean copying all the files in wp-content into my local drive using FTP?
And how do I go about backing up the database using tool like phpAdmin tool. Where can I get phpAdmin tool? Can you walk me thru as I have never done this before?

On another note, I wonder if in the Admin/Dashboard, under Tools/Export/ click on “Download Export File” is going to backup the articles / posts and all that. Do someone has any leads?

Yes, you need to copy all the contents from your FTP and paste them on your local PC if you are using IE (There are some other methods if you are using FileZilla or something else)..

You can get the phpmyadmin tool from your control panel. You can ask your host regarding this. From there you can backup the database using the steps provided here.
