    Hi there.
    With WP smash – do I need to manually smush each image I upload to my blog or does it do this automatically?

    Do I need still resize my image prior to uploading it – or is this taken care of through the compression?

    What is the preferred size of photo for a blog??

    WP Smush does have an option to smush images on image upload. To activate it please go to Media -> WP Smush and check the option pointed on the screenshot https://screencast.com/t/edn7bYw09H.

    WordPress creates image thumbnails (which are also compressed by our plugin) every time you upload the image, unless you’re uploading full size image specifically to content in WordPress. This means that smaller sizes of that image will be used in most cases on your site if that makes sense.
