How to block Spam on Comment section

  • I am using Akismet as plugin but I am receiving spam comments for posting approval trying to sell me SEO membership, is there any way to prevent this or it is part of the game and I have to keep deleting them

  • Akismet will block a lot. But SPAM will still get through because this is really, really hard to do and it’s better to be lenient than to block legitimate messages.

    So to answer your question – yes, you will still need to moderate. There are some WordPress security plugins that can add additional barriers (like CAPTCHAs or “Are you human?” tests) which can help reduce the amount of SPAM.
