How to center the main front page posts content area with no sidebar – 2017

Is this website being delivered from the wordpress.com cloud solution?
If so, that support is available here:

However, to answer your question, can you select a template with no sidebar like this:

Thanks for that.

I’m on www.ads-software.com, hosted at Dreamhost.

The solution offered does not help for a couple of reasons.

1. I want the front page at https://psyberspace.walterlogeman.com to show the latest posts, not a static one.

2. Even when I select static the posts page I then create has the same problem as I have now. a site that does not have a centered layout.

The first and the last relate to full with templates for posrs. Not what I’m aafer.

The middle one had some CSS that I tried and played with. I could change the with of the fromt page display, but the two column (if that is what it is?) one with one word: Posts, remain steadfastly in place.

so more ideas please!

Are you sure you are using the default, out of the box twentyseventeen theme?
Something is wrong in the template names.

You can do this:

Customizer –> Additional CSS:

Yes – the CSS accommplishes your goal – however take note that it is not the ‘right way’ to do things. The proper way would be to create a page template in the child theme of your site. Then, once you have built that full width template, you apply that template to the page.

However it is not really a page template that I need is it? The code I just put in is fit the front page with multiple pages.
