How to change background of Post heading

  • New to this, first post.
    I am using the OMNIBLOCK Theme.
    I have fiddled with changing colors, images,etc on this and some other themes.
    I want to have a background color on the part of the Post where it says “Posted by Admin on July 5, 2009”
    and in the background of the area where the title of the post appears.
    I have kind of run into a block wall on these to, (but have learned alot along the way). If anyone could help, it would be appreciated.

    Also, I need to add a superscript (a small “SM” to indicate a servicemark) to the Blog Title —
