How to change cache folder location?

  • Hi,
    I have a vast amount of RAM; 64GB to be exact and I’m not using any of it hardly.

    I would like to place the cache folder, that this plugin uses, into my RAMDisk. My RAM disk is 20GB.

    Can I do this?

    If so, how can I change the location of the cache folder?

    ALSO:
    Do you think it would improve my page-load times if I installed my entire wordpress->apache->mysql apps into my RAMDisk?

    I use a custom ‘portable’ install. So it will only take two clicks to install everything into my RAM and let it remain there.

    (Of course. I would have to make regular backups to disk in case of a crash, etc)

    But would it REALLY improve page load times? (I’m currently at 1.4 seconds average to USA, but javascript and images are taking 250ms+++. I’m not sure if it is legit, but pingdom.com says I get a 350ms page load in europe :-s [my host is in europe])
