How to change date settings (and language)

Hi! Amazing plugin.
One question: I am using it on an italian website, so I need the dates (months) to appear in italian language. Is there a way to achieve that?
In other places I use `setlocale(LC_TIME, “it_IT”);
echo strftime(‘%e %B %G’)`Thoughts?
