• Hello! Please I need an understanding of how wordpress works here.
    I have a domain name example-domain.com and example-domain2.com.
example-domain.com has all the contents and are indexed but I will want to replace it with example-domain2.com and maintain the seo benefit of example-domain.com without 401 error redirecting the whole of example-domain.com as a 301 redirect.
Is this possible? Can I redirect only the old post that has indexed pages?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

You can, and here’s the official support guide: https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/changing-the-site-url/

… and maintain the seo benefit of example-domain.com without 401 error redirecting the whole of example-domain.com as a 301 redirect.

You’ll need the old domain hosted on a server you control to be able to do this.

Just think about this for a moment: If you didn’t need to own the old domain to be able to point links to your new domain, then anyone could point links for other people’s domains they don’t own to their own websites ??
