  • Good question. How did you solve this? Thanks

    @ramzii

    Usually most say you can’t – BUT:

    You can use this plugin https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/username-changer/
    while the plugin had not been updated in a while I have clients still using it **Yes you will get deprecated notices in log.
    Once the plugin is activated simply go to Users — Username Changer page.

    or

    You can edit in phpMyAdmin **be very careful – I usually do not recommend for most people!** The Table you will want will be wp_users click edit on the username that you want to edit, change the user_login value to whatever you want. For example you can replace ‘joe’ to ‘jim’ ***always lowercase – no spaces***

    I hope this helps.

    Wauw, you, are, a, pearl. Its not often my month old comments get a response. That alone is something i truly am thrilled about! Thank you! Will be sure to check this one out. Shame the creator of this plugin doesnt have a better solution. Will ask about this in the forums! Thanks again ??

    Hey so i asked and heres his answer:

    I’m not 100% of how https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/username-changer/ handles email change. I thought that it did, but it’s not my plugin so I need to dig into that one a little more.

    There is an Email as Username extension that I have here. That actually makes the username the email and it does update the usrename if the user changes the email address.

    The extension he talkes about is offered to paying customers. For anyone reading this, its well worth the dollars and his support is top notch ??
