How to change home but not rest of website?

  • Hello! I currently have a blog, which I would like to turn into an online portfolio. I would like the home page to be a gallery, but have an option at the top that would send you to what the website currently is. I’m not sure how to go around doing this. If I install a new gallery style theme, how would I keep the blog format on another page? What do you suggest doing? Thank you!

  • The Settings > Reading admin page lets you pick what to show on the home page, and what address to use for showing the latest posts (blog page).
    You don’t need a new theme to put a gallery on a Page and designate it as home.
