Hello there, the question is about how can I change the language of the packing slip to German? Like change the title itself “Packing Slip”,order number, order date etc.

    Hi @cdoda,

Although our plugin is available in German (de_DE), for another German locale (Formal, Switzerland, Switzerland Informal, Austria), you’ll need to download the translation files from German (de_DE), and manually install it in your site, or even better, use the German (de_DE) as fallback. There is a great plugin to help you with this: Language Fallback

After installing the plugin, you just need to go to Settings?> General, find the Language Fallback Settings and choose Deutsch:

Thank you very much for your replay! ps. I forgot to mention that for Inovice also I want the language to be German. So there’s no other way to just switch it up to German because as you mentioned that your plugin is available in German? So I just have to add them myself manually as it is said in Custom translations from the link you send me by copying the .po and .mo right? Then I get an option which language to choose or I can switch it to German?

    Hi @cdoda,

Sorry If I don’t understand. Could you please tell me which of this options fit better with what you want?:

    1. You just want our plugin settings and the PDF documents to be translated into German. If so, just follow my instructions above. I recommend using Language Fallback, instead of manually copying the translation files.
    2. You’re already seeing our plugin translated into German, but want to customize some strings.
    3. You want to manage the invoices in different languages beside the German in a multilanguage site. E.g. English, German, French, etc.

Thanks again for your answer, yeah I just want the PDF documents to be in German and I already had a plugin so I translated it with it (Loco Plugin). But it still remained in English then I checked some other topics here in Support and understood that the Costumer gets the PDF in Site Language and the Admin in Admin language (because when I switch to German Admin Language then it’s in German).
So now the last thing as for customizing some strings that your mentioned in (2.) how can I do that?

Are you using a multilanguage plugin in your site, like WPML or Polylang, for instance?

    I’am using Loco Plugin.

Loco Translate allows you to translate plugins and themes, but actually it’s not a multilanguage plugin as such (it doesn’t allow you to translate your contents in several languages or allow your customers to switch the language in the front-end).

That said, I don’t think you need Loco to translate our plugin because German is already an available language, as I said above (although, you’ll need to install Language Fallback, if you’re using a different locale than de_DE). However, as you already found out, the invoice language is served to the user active language. That is, if the admin set the German as user language, the invoice will be served in German. On the other hand, the customers will receive the PDF invoice in the site language.

However, if you want to set a specific language to the PDF documents, ignoring which language have set the current user or the site, you can use the Document language setting, included in the Professional extension, to achieve it:
