    Hi Slushman,

Thank you so much for your hard work on this plugin.

I’d like to edit this description: “Please enter the URL for your album / set / profile from any of the following services: Bandcamp, SoundCloud, Reverbnation, Tunecore, Mixcloud, or Noisetrade.” and can’t seem to find where. I’ve tried changing it in every instance I’ve found it, including in the language file for the plugin. Am I failing to load the language file correctly? Is it done differently for plugins?

Thanks so much for your time.

The text itself is in the inc/config.php file in the bottom section labelled “Custom”. I’m not quite sure about the whole process for translating plugins and themes into another language. My understanding is if you use the .pot file to translate each phrase, take that translated file and put into the plugin (in the languages folder for this plugin), then select the appropriate language for the site in the WordPress settings, it should use that language file to display the plugin’s messages in the chosen language.

I’m seeing that phrase in the .pot file, so if you’re using that file to do the translations, it should be in the new file for the language you’re translating to.

Thanks so much for your reply! Oh, strange, I did find it within the Custom section of the config.php, but changing it didn’t have any effect. Do I need to enable the custom descriptions somewhere?

I wasn’t intending to use .pot translations to edit this description, but it seemed like maybe it was the only way to accomplish what I was trying to do. Glad that’s not the issue! Thanks again for your help.

Maybe I’ve misunderstood. Do you just want to change what it says in English or is this going to be in another language? If its not for another language, what are wanting to change? If it for another language, the .pot translation really is the proper way to go about it.

All I’d like to do is change what it says in English, and just edit it so it’s a shorter read. I mistakenly thought the languages file might be the only way to edit the description. Apologies for any confusion.

No worries. As far as I know, all you’d have to do is change that section in the config.php file then. If that’s not working, I’m not sure what be preventing it from changing. Maybe clear your browser cache?

Nope, still not working. Perhaps something I tinkered with is messing it up. Now that I know I should have edited config.php I’ll delete and reinstall and see if that does the trick.

I figured it out. When I edited the config.php BEFORE creating the # of widgets under plugin settings, it worked.

I suppose I was trying to edit already-created widgets, and misunderstood how the plugin worked. Anyways, solved! Hopefully this discussion proves helpful to someone trying to figure out the same thing later. Thanks so much for your prompt help slushman.
