• Hello… I have a client that would like to have his website that is in French in English as well.

The thing is he will be translating himself the pages… so an automatic translater is not the solution.

What I would like is to have a button that when you press it it changes the menu and the main page. I have looked at alot of solutions here and there but they all say different things and it gets a little confusing. Many of what I’ve found was dated as well… 2 to 3 years ago.

Is there a way to create a double menu that points to different pages in the same website and worpress ? It has to be easy to maintain for my client and I’m not a programmer so… hope I’m not asking for to much.

Sorry if the subject has already been here… just did not find anything.

    Thanks in advance ??

  • If I were you, I would just make two subdomains. One would be fr.whateveryourwebsitenameis.com and the other en.whateveryourwebsitenameis.com. Then, on your home page you can just have two buttons. If you push the one button, it goes to the fr.whateveryourwebsitenameis.com and the other would go to en.whateveryourwebsitenameis.com. Then, all you need to do is make you one site in French, and your other in English.

Let me know if this makes sense. It would sort of be like this website. canadiens.nhl.com/

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply !

I had seen this solution… but was looking for mostly a menu change… because I’m not sure my client will want to pay extra for a second domain name… or maybe am I missing something ?! You need two different wordpress for that to no ?

Also… on the website you used for example we can only change the language at the beginning… he would like it when ever when surfing on the website.

:/ hard to know how to do this

Subdomains are not a different domain from the main domain. Subdomains are usually included in hosting packages. You should contact you host provider and see if your plan includes subdomains.
