Translation for GiveWP is handled in two different ways: one is for the main plugin and the other for premium add-ons.

The main GiveWP plugin available on the www.ads-software.com plugin directory is translated by the (largely volunteer) team at the official translation page for the WordPress project. Here’s the specific page for GiveWP: https://translate.www.ads-software.com/projects/wp-plugins/give

We as a company don’t have control over those translation files, though we can make suggestions and contributions there just like anyone else. I’d encourage you to get involved there to make GiveWP translations the best they can be.

The premium add-ons, because they are not on the official WordPress directory, have to handle translations differently. A handful of our add-ons ship with translation files (PO and MO files) but as most of our team is not multilingual enough to manage translations, we rely on others to provide translations for GiveWP add-ons. The most established way to do that is with a program called Poedit: https://poedit.net/download

If you want to translate the files just for your site, you can also use a plugin called Loco Translate: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/loco-translate/

Firstly, thanks for your answer!

Unfortunately I already tried both methods Loco and Poedit.
It seems like that the words I need to edit are not marked for Loco Translate. I simple can’t find them in there.

I also tried Poedit and followed all the steps described on your website.
I was able to change the files, but once uploaded on my FTP those translated files are not working (file names are exactly as described on your website).

Allthough, I was able to translate everything needed with Loco. Except those parts I described in my first post. Is it possible, that it’s simply impossible to translate this certain sections of the plugin?

I really need and want to use GiveWP for this charity site. But since it’s a local hospice most people who are visiting the website, are only speaking german. So I really need to find a way to translate this last part.

The phrases are there and you can translate them using Loco Translate.

Thanks for your help! But anyways, I can’t find them within Loco.

Maybe I am dumb af, but I can not find them.
Searching for “Donate” does not come up with the results I need. There is no “Donate with PayPal” or a “Donate with (…)”
