How to change permalink

    For some reason all the pages on my blog have the #2 in their permalink such as:
    https://www.nightowlcorner.com/recipes-2/

    In edit post mode, I have tried to click the edit button next to permalink to change it but every time I remove the 2 it reverts back when saved. I do not have 2 pages with the same names so I don’t understand why this is happening.

    Before recreating a Page or Post, ensure that the older copy has been deleted from the appropriate Trash section.

    Thank you. I am totally new to wordpress. Where do I find the trash section?

    At the top of the All Pages and All Posts areas of your site’s admin area.
