How to change "posted by author"

Try editing your theme’s index.php or loop.php template file.

In single.php file search for this line

<div class="pmet">Posted by <?php the_author(); ?> on <?php the_time('M - j - Y'); ?></div>

Remove the <?php the_author(); ?> and plug in your name or anything you wish.

As I said, this one changes the single post only.
The main page remains unchanged!
