    Hello….

I just set my web as a multisite (using subdirectory), but now some of my page cannot open (error page 404). I cannot access my gallery page

    https://mydomain/gallery/ (it’s working before multisite)

but when I create new site like this :

    https://mydomain/newsite/

it’s running normally, so I think the problem is related to htaccess or wordpress baseurl. My question is how to fix it and change the url of my new site into something like this?

    https://mydomain.com/item/newsite/

is it possible to do something like that? if it’s possible can you tell me how to do it?

    thank you…

If you install WPMS (WordPress Multisite) on a sub-directory you should still be able to access the gallery page via yourdomain.com/gallery UNLESS the new site you installed is yourdmain.com/gallery.

It is not possible to change the domain of a new site to yourdomain.com/item/newsite because “item” will not register as a page, post or site. It will be a 404 error and cause SEO errors.

Actually I want to create some demo page for my client to see the themes I created on my website (like themeforest.net), I already try to use demo bar plugin but some themes need to have a different setting so i didn’t use it, when I found that wordpress can use multisite, this is the best solution but now I have another problem using multisite because some of my page cannot open. Do you have any suggestion for me?

Could you provide a link to your site, and the link to the page in question. It may be your permalink structure, but I won’t know until I can see for myself.

Thank you IllusionstarDev, You’re right the problem is at my permalink structure. I change my permalink structure like this :

    /%category%/%postname%/

and voila my gallery page is appear.

Thank you Illusionstardev, you just saved my day….
