    Hello,

I use WordPress and WooCommerce in german language.
At the shop I have integrated the out of the box filter of WooCommerce.

    .select2-selection, .select2-dropdown
    class = select2-selection select2-selection–single

How to change the automatic generated placeholders?

If I go to widgets and set the word “Hersteller” as description, the widgets will set automatically the word “Beliebige” in front of “Hersteller”.

So the placeholder in the filter looks like:
    “Beliebige Hersteller”

But the placeholder should only be:
    “Hersteller”

How to rename the placeholder or how to remove the automatically generated word “Beliebige”?

    Anybody can help, please?

    Hi @mediawebwp,

To change or remove text in a WordPress plugin or theme you could use a free plugin called Loco Translate which will allow you to find and change the localized text in your language files to something else even in the same language.

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/loco-translate/

I know it may sound strange to “translate” your own language, but it works. ??

    Hi Stuart Duff,

thank you for response. But what will happen with my translation if the plugin (WooCommerce) will be updated? Is there something like a “child-theme” for plugins?

Or do I have to translate after every update?

    Hi @mediawebwp,

You won’t need to translate after every update unless the strings you’re translating are removed or new strings are added since you’re using the Loco Translate extension to handle things.
