How to change the woocommerce SKU text on the product page to Product number

  • Hi,

    The title says it all really.

    Does someone have enough knowhow to help me with this?

    I’ve already tried to change the SKU texts in the woocommerce/single-product/meta.php but that does not work.

    I think something is overwriting that.

    However i’m not a coder so a simple fix would be appreciated.

    Howdy jimmycataldo123,

    Editing the SKU text string in meta.php should do the trick. The only thing I see that might be wrong is that the path to the file you have is wrong – it should be woocommerce/templates/single-product/meta.php

    That said, if you have any woocommerce specific extensions installed/enabled or a woocommerce specific theme, it is possible that the default meta output is being overridden either via a different function or an action hook.

    Hi Will,

    I have edited but it does not work. I’ve noticed it says (inactive) next to the php file title i’m editing from within wordpress.

    We’ve decided to let SKU visible because its not really a problem afteral.
