How to Change to Excerpts?

    How do I change the full article listed on my home page to just excerpts of the first ten or so? I have searched the forums and other similar questions have been closed without explanation.

  • Simply edit the relevant template files and replace <?php the content();?> with <?php the_excerpt;?>.

    Well – I’m using the Twenty-Ten template and not sure which file to edit for only the home page. There’s no home.php

    Sorry – I’m pretty dumb about this stuff!

    If you’re using an unedited version of TwentyTen, the home page would show the full posts by default – unless you’ve added a <!--more--> tag to any of your posts.
